Rail Safety and Assurance Manager

Calibre Rail is a leading specialist railway engineering and project management company with a number of large scale rail construction projects and exciting plans for further expansion.

We are seeking applications from highly motivated and eager individuals to fill the role of Rail Safety and Assurance Manager.

 

Key Tasks:     
 
  • Develop, maintain and obtain accreditation compliance for a Rail Safety Management System that complies with legislation and complements Calibre Safety Systems across Australia
  • Manage effective implementation and adherence to company and project rail & OH&S safety procedures to ensure safe workplace, reduce associated risks and comply with statutory obligations
  • Coach and mentor management and employees to facilitate improved Rail Safety practices and capability
  • Identify Rail Safety related design issues and participate with the design team to ensure suitable design data and practical and effective design complies with the safety in design process.
 
To be successful in this role you will have:
 
  • Tertiary Qualification in Safety Management (min HNC equivalent)
  • Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team
  • Experience in setting up and managing Rail Safety Systems
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and implement safety management systems
  • Thorough knowledge and practical experience in implementing Business policies, procedures and instructions for implementing safety on major multi disciplined projects
  • Excellent knowledge of the OH&S, Environment and Workers Compensation legislation
  • Thorough knowledge of AS 4292 and Rail Accreditation requirements
  • Experience in Design and Construction based Rail Safety.
